The iWits team was approached by the Ministry of Finance, Namibia Customs & Excise and USAID to assist with the conceptualisation, design and development of an online Portal which will be used to facilitate trade with Namibia.
The Namibian Trade Information Portal (NTIP) brings together information regarding Customs procedures and processes, and trade controls from a number of Government agencies, ensuring that trade is facilitated effectively with minimum interferences.View Site
The Namibia Trade Information Portal allows users to browse through a comprehensive documents library containing all trade related documents. This section on the Portal will be used to share useful and important information with traders – ensuring that all information is freely available.
The Classification Tool allows users to search for a specific commodity either by using the HS Code or product name. Once the commodity is found, all trade related documentation, rules and regulations will be listed.
A Duty Calculator has been added to the website, allowing traders to calculate the approximated duties assigned to the importing (and/or exporting) of a specific commodity.
A section has been made available listing all frequently asked question, if a question is not found users have the option to submit a question. Once the users question is answered, the question and answered is added to the Portal for public use.
