iWits Web Development and Design cc (2012/2954) (“us”, “we”, “our”), operates from No. 21 Nachtigal Street, Ausspannplatz, Windhoek, Namibia and is the sole owner of the Website and Insights residing on (the “Service”). This page aims to inform you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data. !

1. Type of Data Collected

We have several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you. Below is a look at the type of data we collect via our Services:

1.1. Personal Data

We make use of a single enquiry form, where we ask that you provide us with certain identifiable information, which we use to contact and identify you (“Personal Data”). The following data about you is collected:

  • Name;
  • Surname;
  • Contact Number;
  • Email Address; and the
  • Message left.

All data is captured, encrypted and saved onto a database, this data is used to identify the number of enquiries received via our services as well as to ensure that all enquiries were responded to.

An option allows Users to specify if the data stored should be anonymous or not, in which case the entry is still recorded; however, all personal data is replaced with the word “Anonymous”.

1.2. Usage

We may also collect information on the performance of our services (“usage data”). This usage data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (e.g. IP Address), browser type, browser version, and the pages of our Services that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. Kindly note that all data is stored for a period of five (5) years.

2. Tracking & Cookie Data

We do not make use of any Cookies throughout our Services; however, some of the third party services might make use of Cookies. Kindly see 7. Service Providers for more information.

3. Use of Data

We use collected data for the following purposes:

  • To provide Customer Care and Support;
  • To provide analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Services;
  • To monitor the usage of this Service;
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues.

4. Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to – and maintain on – computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

Kindly take note, upon the use of our Enquiry Form, your Personal Data undergoes the following transfers:

  • Personal Data stored in a MySQL database, hosted in 6100 Center Dr Suite 1199, Los Angeles, CA 90045, USA. The Database is backed up to an Amazon Glacier account weekly, and kept for a maximum period of six (6) months. Our service allows you the opportunity to decide whether any data stored within our database remains anonymous or not.
  • The contents of the email, sent to, hosted by Google Apps. All emails are kept for a total of five (5) years in accordance with Namibia legislation.
  • All emails to automatically forward to our Support Desk (FreshDesk).

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this, Privacy Policy and no transfer of Personal Data will take place to an organisation or country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

5. Disclosure of Data

We may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • To comply with legal legislation;
  • To protect and defend the rights or property of iWits;
  • To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service;
  • To protect the personal safety of Users of the Service or the public;
  • To protect against legal liability.

6. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. All personal data stored within the database of the Service is encrypted, using the standard (Advanced Encryption Standard) AES-256 bit.

7. Service Providers

7.1. Google Services

7.1.1. Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualise and personalise the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

Activity via Google Analytics is tracked for a total of five (5) years.

7.1.2. GSuite

We make use of GSuite to host our email accounts and content. All emails are stored for a total of five (5) years as per the Namibia legislation.

7.2. AddThis Social Sharing Plugin

Our Services make use of a third party social sharing solution, called AddThis. The data collected by AddThis may include, but is not limited to:

  • Unique IDs such as a cookie ID on your browser;
  • IP addresses and information derived from IP addresses, such as geographic location;
  • Information about your device, such as browser, device type, operating system, the presence or use of ‘apps’, screen resolution, or the preferred language;
  • The data and time you visited our Service or you used the AddThis Toolbar;
  • The referring URL and web search you used to locate and navigate to our Serivces;
  • Keywords entered into the AddThis Toolbar search.

7.3. FreshDesk

iWits Web Development and Design cc makes use of FreshDesk, which is one of Freshworks many solutions, as our support desk. This solution has been integrated with our Website Contact Form, which means each time a form is completed it is emailed to our FreshDesk Support Desk.

7.4. Facebook Comments

As part of our Services we offer a regularly updated Insights to our Users. We have integrated Facebook Comments to encourage conversation on our Blog. Thus, kingly note if you leave a message via the Facebook Comments section you will no longer be interacting with our Services, but rather with that of Facebook.

We strongly recommend that you review Facebook’s Privacy Policy to understand how and why your data is being used.

7.5. Amazon Backups

Our services are backed-up on a weekly basis and stored on an Amazon Glacier account, each backup copy is stored for a maximum of 6 (6) months before removed. 8. Links to Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that we do not operate. If you click on a third party link, you are redirected to that third party’s website. We strongly advise that you review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party or services.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Services does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parent consent, we take steps to remove that information from our services.
