Parliament Legal Database

The Parliamentary Support Programme approached iWits in 2016 to assist with the design and development of a Special Online Presence, to build an online Searchable Legal Database. The main aim of the Online Presence is to provide Namibian citizens with direct access to all pre- and post- independence annotated laws as well as the post-independence regulations.

Due to the sheer volume of documents and information that has to be made available to visitors, it was requested that a custom Search be developed which will allow visitors to search for a specific document using keywords.

A complete custom-developed Content Management System (CMS) was developed for Parliament, allowing them to upload all pre- and post- independence annotated laws and regulations. Each time a document is uploaded, all contents of the document is indexed, allowing visitors to search through the contents of the documents.
